U3A Bairnsdale

U3A Weekly Update (24 March 2020)

COVID-19

Hello to all members

We wish to inform you that the Hub is now closed to all user groups, including

U3A Bairnsale until 14th April, when a further decision will be made.

We are working towards ways of continuing some of our courses in a more creative way.

We will remain closed until further notice.

We encourage you to look after yourself and each other and remain in contact with friends and family.

Welcome to University of the Third Age Bairnsdale and District Inc.

We hope that you will find our website informative and interesting.

Why do we use the term “Third Age”?
The first age is that of dependency, childhood and school.
The second age is adulthood, career building and home making when we are usually too busy to do a lot of things we’d like to do.

The third age should be the best – the golden era - it is the age of active retirement – the age when you will be glad you have found a University of the Third Age to enrich your retirement years by keeping mentally and physically alert. This is a time to learn new skills and enjoy lifelong education for the sheer pleasure of it.

U3A Bairnsdale encourages you to “have a go”. There are no academic pre-requisites, no exams, assessments or tests to cause you anxiety.  The atmosphere in all activities is friendly and relaxed – you are sure to enjoy the company of fellow retirees now freed from the pressure of earning a living. Please look around the site and take a look at our Programs tab to see what we presently offer.  Except for Sundays, there are activities every day of the week.

U3A Bairnsdale is a community based organization totally dependent on volunteers and we do our best to achieve a pleasant outcome for you to look forward to.

We hope that we will soon have the pleasure of adding your name to our roll of active U3A members in Bairnsdale.
